Boston Comic Con may have brought William Shatner and thousands of fans to town, but the real star of the weekend was an adorable, cosplaying baby from Arlington.

Tracie Lockwood-Santiago and David Lockwood decided to bring their 5-month-old son Charlie to the event dressed as “Baby Groot,” the talking tree creature from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The costumed infant ended up winning the Internet this week after the couple posted a ridiculously cute photo from the convention.

Lockwood, who owns a comic book store in Somerville, recently told Wicked Local that his son has a lot in common with the big screen hero.

“Charlie loves to stand up when we hold him and he jiggles around, very reminiscent of the way baby Groot dances,” Lockwood said.

According to Buzzfeed, this isn’t Charlie’s first time dressing up as a superheroic character. His parents have been photographing him in different outfits as mementos for his grandparents.

Photos of Charlie’s latest fantastic costume, however, quickly became an online sensation. It even caught the eye of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, who posted an image of Charlie dressed as Groot on his Instagram.
