Always dreamed of acting in a major Hollywood movie? Your moment may finally have arrived, courtesy of Mark Wahlberg. On March 4, Slate Casting will hold a casting call for extra work in his latest film Daddy’s Home 2. The opportunity is open to anyone ages 7 and up, so both you and your kids can make your big debut together.

In a press release, casting director Ashley Skomurski of Slate Casting said scheduling a time slot for the casting call is not required. She also encouraged anyone interested in being considered for extra work on the film to attend the casting call. Headshots are welcome but not required, she says: “If you have a current photo, feel free to bring it, or just bring yourself anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and have some fun!”

The original Daddy’s Home featured performances by Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, and Linda Cardellini. Ferrell plays the very straitlaced stepfather to Cardellini’s kids, and his efforts to win over her children are complicated by the return of their father, who’s a bit more of a badass. Naturally, Wahlberg plays the badass. Life lessons about different parenting styles ensue, with presumably enough story left over for a sequel. One big change for this second movie? The ever-controversial Mel Gibson will join the cast, fresh off a highly regarded directing turn for Hacksaw Ridge.

March 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Motion Cyc Studio, 162 Columbus Ave. For more information, visit slatecasting.com.
