Elizabeth Warren Gets Sentimental on Instagram
Elizabeth Warren may have a lot going on in the Senate, but it looks like things at home couldn’t be better.
The Massachusetts senator seems to be all over the place these days, whether journeying to Afghanistan for the first time as part of her work on the Senate Armed Services panel, hopping back and forth between the Bay State and D.C., or stopping by Full Frontal. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her priorities straight: She took some time to celebrate her 37th wedding anniversary with her husband, Bruce Mann. And while traditionally 37 years together is supposed to be marked with a gift made of alabaster, Mann chose a different route to show his affection for his hard-working wife.
“Last night when I got home, Bruce met me with a sweeping “ta-da!” and flung open the door to the hall closet. New shelf. Hooks. A place for grocery bags,” wrote Warren in a caption for a sweet snap of the couple she shared on Instagram. The selfie shows off toothy grins as they pose in front of what looks to be the closet Warren described.
The Senator’s schedule means time at home, and time for things like hanging shelves, is limited. Apparently Mann knew an organized closet is one of her favorite things, and chose a simple meaningful gift for this relationship milestone. It certainly seemed to make Warren very happy. And for those wondering, she organizes her suit jackets by color.
While maybe it’s not the usual example of #RelationshipGoals, Warren wrote that the gift was just an example of “how sweet and thoughtful Bruce always is.” Congratulations on 37 years to these two lovebirds.
