Aziz Ansari to Perform Benefit Show for Boston Marathon Victims

All proceeds go to the One Fund Boston and the Officer Richard Donohue Fund.

This Sunday, actor-comedian Aziz Ansari will be in Boston to perform a benefit show for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Not only will 100 percent of the proceeds go to the One Fund Boston and the Officer Richard Donohue Fund, but the Wilbur Theatre will also donate $9,500 to the funds.

You might recognize this stand-up comedian from his former MTV show Human Giant, or his many supporting roles in comedy films including Get Him to the Greek and I Love You Man. He also hosted the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, during which he spoofed Precious and sang a tribute to Avatar in the style of R. Kelly.

But Ansari is probably best known for being on the NBC comedy show Parks and Recreation. Alongside Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones, Ansari plays Tom Haverford, a less-than-stellar parks department employee turned entrepreneur.

Ansari will perform at the Wilbur Theatre on Sunday at 7 p.m. And if you can’t make the show, maybe keep your eyes peeled for the funny man anyway, perhaps ordering apps, zerts, tray-trays, or Adam Sandlers:
