Chris Evans Joins Wahlberg, Damon, and Affleck on Highest-Paid Actors List

Once again, Chris Evans has beaten Chris Pratt. First at the Super Bowl, now in Forbes’s annual ranking of the World’s Highest-Paid Actors.

And it really is the “world,” considering the 2015 list of moneymakers includes international celebs like Jackie Chan, who ranks number 2 with a cold hard $50 million this past year. At the top of the list is Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., who made—ready for it?—$80 million. According to Forbes, a huge chunk of that came from Avengers: Age of Ultron, and $40 million came from working on Captain America: Civil War.

Speaking of Captain America, back to Chris Evans. The actor barely makes the highest-paid list (barely = must be nice to be so rich!) at number 32, raking in a reported $13.5 million paycheck, barely beating Chris Pratt ($13 million).

Forbes notes:

Though he earns far less than Robert Downey Jr. per Marvel movie, Evans stays busy with films such as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” His packed schedule means he makes the cut for the first time.

Thirteen million buckaroos? Not bad at all.

Evans joins some other Boston-bred actors who are no strangers to the highest-paid list: Cambridge-raised Ben Affleck tied with Liam Neeson at number 22 ($19.5 million). Fellow Cantabrigian Matt Damon comes in slightly higher at number 20 ($25 million). And which Boston actor makes the most moola? Well, that’d be the King of Wahlburgers himself, Mark Wahlberg, of course. The Dorchester native rounds out the top 10, making $32 million. His cashflow comes from starring in Ted 2 and Transformers: Age of Extinction, as well as producing movies like Entourage.

Looks like Cambridge is getting routed by Dorchester in this round.

Chris Evans, by the way, was raised in Sudbury, though the actor reportedly maintained an apartment in the Combat Zone a few years ago.
