MIT Goes to a Galaxy Far, Far Away for Star Wars-Themed Admissions Video

The force is strong with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The university’s admissions department recently released a Star Wars-themed video reminding prospective students of the date when they’ll learn whether or not they’ve been accepted.

The short video clip stars a red, likely CGI droid reminiscent of BB-8, the new mechanical character featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The spherical robot gets a grand tour of MIT as it strolls through the halls, eventually making its way to the office of Stu Schmill, Dean of Admissions.

Somehow, the BB-8 lookalike gets an acceptance letter from Schmill, which probably won’t make any rejected students feel better when they learn their fate on Pi Day, March 14. Hopefully they won’t turn to the Dark Side.
