Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bauman Hung Out with David Ortiz
Red Sox fans got a special Marathon Monday treat as Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bauman stopped by Fenway Park before the Patriots’ Day morning game.
The actor, who’s playing Bauman in the upcoming drama Stronger, was invited to take the mound and throw out the first pitch alongside the Boston Marathon bombing survivor.
Unfortunately, Gyllenaal had some trouble getting it over to David Ortiz as the Red Sox slugger had to scoop the pitch out of the dirt. Bauman, however, threw a perfect strike to Hanley Ramirez.

Prior to the first pitch, Gyllenhaal and Bauman had an on-field chat with Big Papi outside of the Red Sox dugout. The actor, who’s been in town filming for Stronger, rocked No. 34 on his jersey in honor of the Boston sport star, who is retiring at the end of the year.

After donning both Bruins and Red Sox jerseys during his stay in Boston, all Gyllenhaal needs to do is wear Celtics and Patriots gear and he’ll officially become an honorary Bostonian.
