Boston Remembers Prince with Purple Tributes
Boston had a purple glow on Thursday night as the city paid tribute to Prince, who passed away at the age of 57 earlier in the day.
South Station, Government Center, and other locations were illuminated with purple lights in honor of the late music icon.
Gov. Charlie Baker allowed the Department of Transportation to shower the Zakim Bridge with a “Purple Rain” light tribute.
The Burns Bridge connecting Worcester to Shrewsbury also had a purple glow on Thursday night.

Earlier in the day, Boston honored Prince with a musical tribute at Fenway Park. The Red Sox’s organist Josh Kantor played a variety of songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist’s discography, including “Little Red Corvette,” “1999,” and, of course, “Purple Rain.”
