B.J. Novak and Jason Segel Are Coming
Two funny favorites are coming to the Boston area this fall. Harvard Book Store is hosting author events with Newton native B.J. Novak and Jason Segel of How I Met Your Mother fame.
Jason Segel, September 12
The last time we heard Segel was in town, he was filming Sex Tape. Not a sex tape, but the movie Sex Tape with Cameron Diaz, in which their characters make a sex tape, accidentally upload it to the Cloud, and run around town trying to stop people from finding it on their iPads. It was a terrible movie, so let’s not talk about it anymore.
Segel will be at HBS to read from and sign copies of his new children’s book, Nightmares!, the first in a trilogy co-written with New York Times bestselling author Kirsten Miller. You know what’s really a nightmare? The movie Sex Tape.
$20 adults (book included), $5 kids, September 12, 7 p.m., tickets on sale now at jasonsegel.eventbrite.com.
B.J. Novak, October 2
The concept for Novak’s new children’s book, The Book with No Pictures, is excellent. What better way to get kids to read than through a celebrity who has a ton of grownup fans willing to buy the book for their kids, and more importantly, who is actually a good writer?
Time will tell if A Book with No Pictures will sell well nationally, but regardless, fans will likely leap at the opportunity to attend Novak’s reading and signing at HBS in October, which follows his last visit when he promoted a collection of short stories titled One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories.
$21 adults (book included), $5 kids, October 2, 6 p.m., tickets on sale September 9 at 9 a.m. at harvard.com.
