So have you heard the one about a prostitute in a dryer?

Laura Buchman, 41, of Dorchester was arrested after she climbed into the window of a house on Washington Street in Dorchester, triggering the house alarm. Police conducted a search of the home and subsequently found the suspect hiding in a clothes dryer. Buchman will be charged with Breaking & Entering. She also had outstanding warrants for Larceny, Sex For A Fee, and Violation of a Restraining Order. She will be arraigned tomorrow in Dorchester District Court.

When waiting at the laundromat, we’ve wondered whether we could fold ourselves into one of the dryers, but we’ve never actually attempted it. Can a grown woman actually fit her entire body inside a home clothes dryer? Yes, as it turns out. History is rich with stories of reprobates employing such a strategy. Of course, this couldn’t possibly have been a stacked washer/dryer, or else the weight of the woman would have toppled the unit onto the floor, right?

We hate when the police reports leave us with more questions than a sense of intellectual and moral superiority.
