Street Style: Daily Blend
Twenty-something Tanya Kaufmann caught our eye as she dashed into neighborhood cafe Sofra for her morning java jolt. She has a utilitarian aesthetic, which she describes as being “classic, clean, and practical.” And, although she carries her Balenciaga bag with aplomb, Tanya was quick to point out that her fashion sense is “not driven by high end labels or brands.” Here’s what makes the young Cantabrigian tick:
What are you wearing?
The shorts and a top are Club Monaco, the flats are from J. Crew, the belt is Forever 21, my bag is Balenciaga, and my new sunglasses are from See Eyewear
Who are your favorite designers?
I don’t have a standard go-to favorite designer. It depends on the season… I love Chloé, Céline, Balenciaga [the ready-to-wear pieces] and I also like Cynthia Rowley. Oh, and Tod’s — I think they have a very classy shoe.
Where do you like to shop?
Depends who’s buying and what I’m looking for. A few times a year, my mom will treat me to some staple items like J Brand jeans, Tory Burch shoes, and a top or two from the Tannery. When it comes to shopping for myself, I stick to Zara, Club Monaco and sometimes T.J. Maxx — they have some great steals.
What’s one piece that you simply can’t live without and why?
My Cartier watch — it’s classy and timeless. Plus, it has sentimental value because my parents picked it out with me for my 25th birthday.
Anything you’re dying to get your hands on?
Anything?! A navy blue convertible!
