Boston Fashion Week: Luke Aaron at the Union Club
Boise-bred and Boston-based designer Luke Aaron, fresh off his New York Fashion Week debut, brought his spring/summer 2014 collection to the Union Club on Friday night, where models sported beautifully cut trousers, cropped jackets, and stiff shirts inspired by officer uniforms. They were a reference to the collection’s theme of travel and high adventure, which Aaron interpreted in a variety of ways, including a particularly fetching Sari blouse in silk Georgette and a pair of Jodhpur-ish pants.
Models also sauntered down the runway in languid gowns cut on the bias as Tom Odell’s “Another Love” played. A white empire waist dress with red lace overlay reinforced the collection’s strong Indian subtext, and in passing, elicited a burst of spontaneous applause from the audience.
