Photos from MassArt’s ‘Wearable Art’ Fashion Show

MassArt students showed off their talents at the annual runway show, held at Copley Place.

On first glance, the dress walking down the runway at Copley Place seems like it’s made from some sort of stiff, metallic material. After inching closer and doing a well-deserved double take, it turns out that the material is made from a bunch of Capri Sun pouches.

Welcome to the Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s annual Wearable Art fashion show.

The show opened with a line from L.K. Bennett, before shifting gears into the ever-popular ‘Wearable Art’ portion, in which students from MassArt designed intricate pieces of clothing from unusual fabrics and home goods, ranging from upholstery fabric to copper scrubbing pads.

Taken apart, each piece is unique and beautiful on its own; but together, the looks exemplify the pure talent that stems from the program.
