Drybar Opens in Downtown Crossing
Downtown Crossing’s retail facelift continues with the opening of Drybar on Kingston Street. The 1,955-square-foot space has eleven chairs and all of the updos, blowouts, and styles beloved by the salon’s many fans. The newest location is the fourth in Massachusetts, and joins approximately seventy other locations nationwide.
Alli Webb, the founder of the increasingly popular “No Cuts. No Color. Just Blowouts!” business, says that Boston is a great market for the brand. “When we opened the first location in the Back Bay, I wasn’t that familiar with Boston,” says Webb. “But I’m very taken with the whole city. I love the architecture. It’s so metropolitan, with a great mix of students, up-and-coming women just starting their careers, stay-at-home moms, and professionals.”
Although it doesn’t seem that the Boston ladies tend to prefer one style of blowout to another, the salon does see a rise in updos, curls and braids this time of year. “Everyone goes a little bigger and bolder around the holidays,” Webb says. Whether you decide to go big or keep it sleek, all blowouts start at only $45 and include a wash.
