Object of Desire: Geekhouse’s “Deerfield” Bike
Like fine suiting, a bicycle is better when it’s tailored to fit your form—and your style. That’s the philosophy behind Geekhouse Bikes, which crafts each and every one of its bespoke rides by hand right here in Charlestown. Proprietor Marty Walsh begins the process by taking measurements for his custom frames, then lets you steer the design: Choose from steel or titanium, select the tires and finish, and soup up certain models with a rack or fender for good measure. This is couture, after all.
