Dr. Kevin J. Heaton, Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, brings extensive expertise in both clinical care and medical education. His clinical interests and expertise include Concierge Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Musculoskeletal Health, and Sports and Exercise Science. His patient-centered approach emphasizes individualized care plans that adapt to each patient’s health needs, building trust through open communication and attentive listening.
Dr. Heaton earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and completed his internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), where he also practiced for over a decade.
Throughout his career, Dr. Heaton has held leadership positions, including Chair of the Clinical Competency Committee and Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at MGH. He has been deeply involved in medical education, serving as a Resident Education Coordinator and director of a clinical conference series for the MGH Bulfinch Clinic.
His dedication to teaching and mentorship earned him The Primary Care Teaching Award.
Currently, Dr. Heaton continues to mentor and educate residents at Harvard Medical School, focusing on ambulatory medicine, clinical reasoning, and patient-centered care.
