What is your typical process for working with a new patient?

Surgery is personalized for each new patient; who is treated individually given their unique needs and desires. Consultations take place at his boutique office on Newbury Street; while surgeries are performed at either the Eastern Massachusetts Surgery Center (EMSC) or Mass Eye & Ear. Dr. Alsarraf takes the time to listen to each patient to hear specifically what they are looking for; before they decide together on which procedures best suit their individual needs. It is not unusual for Dr. Alsarraf to suggest a patient wait a few more years before having surgery; he never pushes a procedure or tries to sell someone something they just aren't ready for yet.

What advice would you give a patient looking to find a provider in your specialty?

Trust your face to a facial plastic surgeon; someone who specializes exclusively in facial cosmetic surgery.

What inspired your passion for your profession?

Well done surgery can bring so much happiness to a patient; while still looking natural and un-operated upon.

What treatments are you most excited to offer?

The lower face-lift; neck and jawline lift; that helps a patient look rested and refreshed. Eyelid surgery that gets rid of the tired look and brightens the whole face. Rhinoplasty that looks natural but enough of a change that everyone thinks you look fabulous.

What is the best reaction you’ve ever received from a patient?

Patients will travel to see Dr. Alsarraf from New York; California; and Florida to avoid the pulled; overdone look. When they return home; their friends will often tell them they have the most natural; best results they have ever seen. One patient recently arrived back in Los Angeles following her surgery here in Boston. The next day; two of her friends booked trips to see Dr. Alsarraf at The Newbury Center.
