As our Oscars hangover finally wears off, there is still one thing we can’t take our eyes off: Russell Crowe’s Twitter account. With an Australian accent and arms of steel, Russell Crowe has been our hero as the ultimate Gladiator Maximus Decimus, heartfelt boxer Jim Braddock, and even a brawnier version of Robin Hood in the 2010 remake. Crowe’s had a life of weight ups and downs, just like the rest of us.

Crowe most recently played the unstoppable Inspector Javert in Les Miserables, and he keeps the Twitter-sphere up to date on just how he stays in shape post-production. After all, working out like a movie star doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.
Want to work out like Russell Crowe? Here’s how:
While some stars might have been primping and tweezing to prepare for Hollywood’s big night, Crowe put in eight miles on a stationary bike and called it his dress rehearsal.
yesterday,8 miles stat bike ,100 air squats, lats, shoulder routine, bench, 5 min prone hold…dress rehearsal for the Oscars

Crowe enjoys the elliptical as much as any gym-goer, but to tone up like Inspector Javert, he puts in the ab work (400 sit-ups worth):
16 mins elliptical, lats,bench,bi,tri,shoulders,400 sit ups…sweaty man part 2 for today

Crowe battles the elements (we hate when wind is in our face, too) to bike for 22.4 kilometers.
22.4 km bike ride. Wind was in my face ,no matter what direction I went…what’s with that?

Crowe mixes his cardio and ab work, and even some lifting. All in a day’s work.

Even gladiators have bad workout days every once in a while—the important thing is to keep showing up.
