Enjoy the last month of summer (gasp!) by signing up for one of these local road races. Whether you’re looking for a longer run or a sprint, one of these races will likely fit the bill.

Bridge and Back 10k

This 10k will take you across the Beverly-Salem bridge and back, and the price of your registration ($25 if you pre-register and $28 on the day of) will go to the local Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. The race is sponsored by Tavern in the Square, and you’ll start early to beat the August heat.

8/4. Race begins at 8:00 a.m. at Tavern in the Square, Salem. Visit RaceWire.com to register.

Luv Run

Flirt your way to the finish line in this unique 5k run that’s geared towards Boston’s single crowd. You’ll start in a wave that matches your relationship status (“hooked up”, or “available”), and you’ll end your race with two free beers (and hopefully a new romance).

8/4. Race begins at 11:00 a.m. in South Boston. Visit luvrun.com for more information and to register.

Splash of Color 5k

Since the Color Run is not coming to Boston, you can still find similar events in Devens, Mass., or in Worcester, Mass., where you’ll raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Cancer Society. The colored powder is made of cornstarch so it won’t stain your clothes or your skin, but you’ll still come home looking like a bag of Skittles.

8/4 in Devens, and 8/6 in Worcester. Both races start at 8 a.m. Visit splashofcolor5k.com  for more information and to register.

Nantasket Beach Run

This 4-mile loop course is entirely on the beach in Hull, Mass. If you haven’t signed up, registration ends on August 1 at noon, so hurry. All proceeds for the race will benefit the Hull Boosters.

8/8. Race begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Murray Nantasket Beach. Visit active.com to register, and visit the event Facebook page for more information.

Chestnut Hill Reservoir 5k

This 3.1-mile course will take runners around the scenic Chestnut Hill Reservoir twice. Cosponsored by Marathon Sports, you’ll also get free frozen greek yogurt after you run and photos taken at the race will be free. 100 percent of the profits will go to the One Fund Boston.

8/17. Race begins at 8:00 a.m. behind Reilly Rink, 2400 Beacon Street, Boston. Visit runthousandmiles.com for more information and to register.

Memphis Soul 5k BBQ

Want to eat BBQ and get a workout? We’re not sure if those two things would work well together, but you can find out at this event. A BBQ and post-race music festival will follow your run, and the 5k will benefit research and treatment for individuals with multiple sclerosis. Live Memphis Soul music will be performed by Shor’ty Billups Band from 12 to 2:30 pm.

8/25. Race begins at 11 a.m. at 247 Elm Street, Davis Square, Somerville. Visit BAEvents.com for more information and to register.
