Charity Kids Yoga Event Saturday
Children of all levels and abilities are invited (with a donation) for a day of yoga on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is organized by the non-profit, Yoga Reaches Out, whose mission to “bring the yoga community together to create seva (selfless service).” Through the gift of yoga, Yoga Reaches Out focuses on raising funds for organizations that impact the health, education, and the well-being of children.
Each participant must raise a minimum of $75 (individual) or $125 per family for the West Suburban YMCA. The goal of the event is to raise $20,000. But organizers want to make the event possible for families that haven’t pre-registered so they are welcoming walk-in registration at a suggested donation of $50. The first 100 registered kids will receive a yoga mat, and there will also be an AcroYoga Playground and Circus Yoga Corner ongoing from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Families are also encouraged to bring a gently used or new book, toy, or arts and crafts item for the Boston Youth Sanctuary, a therapeutic after-school program for youth ages 6 to 13 in Dorchester.
The schedule:
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Ongoing Registration (please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your child’s yoga class.)
