In March, we reported that Emerge Spa, a three-story luxury spa and salon that has held prime real estate on Newbury Street since 2006, will close its doors May 31 and join forces with G2O Spa + Salon.

Since announcing the closure, G2O has been prepping for its 20-year anniversary celebration and “grand re-opening” with a speedy renovation. (Reps are calling it a re-opening, but, technically, the salon never closed.) The reno made more room inside the multi-story spa to accommodate a new entryway, expanded first floor retail area, an expanded hair salon with 16 stations, and a new massage room.

“G2O is the trend and continues to flourish and grow. With the consolidation of Emerge under the G2O brand, we look forward to providing Bostonians with unparalleled services and amenities,” says Joyce Hampers, president and CEO of G2O.

The spa services are also getting a complete makeover. New offerings include: various peels; the Non-Surgical Facelift; LED treatments for scarring and acne; four new facials (Pumpkin Peptide Polish, Hibiscus Rejuvenator, Soothing Facial, and a Deluxe Eye Treatment); and the addition of alternative therapies such as Reiki and acupuncture.
