The November Project Wants Mayor Marty Walsh to Lace Up His Sneakers [UPDATED]
UPDATED August 10, 2015:
Well it finally happened. Exactly one year after the November Project asked Mayor Marty Walsh to join them for a workout, he finally showed up. Perhaps Mayor Walsh was feeling motivated after biking in the Pan Mass Challenge. See pics below.
Thank you @Nov_Project for letting me join you this morning. What a great workout! pic.twitter.com/HJCMPt0u9P

Original story:
The November Project, a free fitness movement born in Boston—which let’s face it, if you don’t know about it already then you obviously do not read any website, newspaper, or magazine in town—really, really, really wants Mayor Marty Walsh to join the group for a workout. Evidence below:

The mayor of Edmonton joined the Canadian outpost of the group for its early morning workout. In fact, he was with Andrew Ference, a former Bruins player and current member of the Edmonton Oilers, who was one of the original Boston November Project members.

Clearly, this has made the Boston flagship a bit jealous. We reached out to the mayor’s office about a week ago and have not heard back. If Mayor Walsh does choose to comment or commit to a workout we’ll update this post. But, frankly, the mayor doesn’t even have to reply. He can do that same thing that anyone who wants to join the November Project for a workout does: #justshowup.
