Select Boston Pools and Beaches Will Stay Open Late This Weekend
Governor Charlie Baker announced Wednesday that many state-run pools, beaches, and spray decks will operate on extended hours this weekend to provide refuge from the waging heat wave.
Fifty-eight bodies of water around the city will stay open, with lifeguards, until 7:30 p.m. each night from Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2. The initiative is intended to give people a way to safely beat the heat, and avoid conditions like heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
