Boston’s First Organic Spa Is Now Open on Newbury Street

Balans Organic Spa, Boston’s first all-organic beauty center, is now open for business on Newbury Street.

The spa’s service menu includes massages, facials, flotation therapy, makeup application, and hair removal, all using totally organic products from Swedish brand Maria Akerberg. Everything from the brand’s line uses cold-pressed, unrefined, and unprocessed oils, and is naturally colored and scented.

The spa is an offshoot of Balans’ wellness center on Boylston Street, which offers services like posture improvement lessons, nutrition counseling, Pilates, yoga, and chiropractic care. The new spa location will also offer nutrition counseling.

Though the spa is already open, it will hold a grand opening ceremony, complete with discounts and special services, on December 8.
