Seven New Year’s Eve Yoga Classes in Boston

We found seven studios where you can ring in 2016 on your yoga mat.

Not the party type? Bored with watching the ball drop? Tired of January 1 hangovers?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above, try ringing in the New Year a bit more peacefully this year. We found seven yoga studios open New Year’s Eve:

1. Coolidge Corner Yoga

Head to Coolidge Corner Yoga for a low-key vinyasa class that begins at 10 p.m. and ends with a prolonged savasana and champagne toast. Class costs $25.

2. Health Yoga Life

For a way to relax pre-party, head to Health Yoga Life’s 4 p.m. wellbeing-oriented class, which concludes with treats and non-alcoholic drinks. Tickets are $20 before Christmas, or $25 after.

3. JP Centre Yoga

Hit your mat for a two-hour yoga flow and meditation, culminating right as the calendar changes at midnight. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 day-of.

4. Kundalini Yoga Boston

This annual event, running until 12:15 a.m., features live music, vegan desserts, and tea in addition to Kundalini yoga and chanting. Register for $35 in advance, or $45 after December 27.

5. North End Yoga

North End Yoga has two New Year’s Eve options: A relaxing candlelight vinyasa yoga class from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.—perfect for the yogi who also likes to party—and a multidisciplinary flow from 10 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. The latter is $25, the former $30, and you can register for both here.

6. O2 Yoga

Enjoy a two-hour yoga class, then reward yourself with a glass of champagne at midnight. Tickets are $30 in advance, or $35 day-of.
