An Overnight Dance Party Is Hitting Boston This Spring
Area college students: There’s a way to put your youthful excess energy to good use this spring.
The Jimmy Fund Dance Party, an overnight dance marathon that raises money for The Jimmy Fund, an integral supporter of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, is hitting the city in April. It’s not quite the 24-hour spectacular of Gilmore Girls fame, but the college-only event promises 12 hours of dancing, Zumba, and yoga—sans any sleeping or sitting.
The Dance Party isn’t until April 2, but registration is open now to give participants time to reach the $300 fundraising minimum, which must be met by May 3. Dancers can join the event individually or as a team, but each student is responsible for meeting his or her own fundraising requirement. There’s also a separate $10 registration fee.
Start breaking in your sneakers and stocking up on coffee now. It’s going to be a long night.
Event runs from 8 p.m. on April 2 to 8 a.m. on April 3 at The Castle at Park Plaza, 130 Columbus Ave., Boston. Register at jimmyfunddanceparty.org.
