Backcountry Yoga Kicks Off Yoga Hikes Series
Spring may be playing hard to get this year, but that’s no reason to confine your workout to the gym.
Starting Sunday, Backcountry Yoga will begin offering a series of yoga hikes through nearby reservations. Nature lovers first embark on an hour-long trail hike and nature walk, then are guided through an hour-long vinyasa flow class in the great outdoors. Let’s just say your tree pose will never feel more authentic.
The first four dates take place at the Middlesex Fells Reservation in Winchester, and hikes through the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton begin in May. Tickets include hiking and yoga, and cost $30. Bring sturdy sneakers or hiking boots and a mat or towel.
Throughout the spring and summer, Backcountry—a group devoted to combining the dual pleasures of yoga and outdoor exploration—will also offer free yoga in public parks, overnight hiking and yoga excursions, kids’ yoga, and more.
