A Fitness Festival Is Coming to Spectacle Island
Did Memorial Day Weekend, and the unofficial start of summer, have you regretting all those workouts you skipped in the dark days of winter? This event will help you make up for lost time.
The Summer Island Fitness Frenzy, to be held June 26, is a jam-packed day of working out on scenic Spectacle Island. You’ll join Public Body trainers Chad Flahive, Maryanne Blake, and Ian Kilpatrick; running coach Dan Fitzgerald; and Equinox yoga instructor Ian Lemieux for eight different workouts, including coached running, yoga, and bootcamp, throughout the course of the day.
A $20 ticket includes hours of fitness, round-trip ferry tickets, a souvenir, and $5 off an upcoming Public Body fitness event. Considering the ferry to Spectacle Island is normally $17 alone, that’s definitely not a bad deal.
Fitness programming will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can choose among 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., or 10:30 a.m. boats to the island, and 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., or 6 p.m. ferries back to Boston. Registration, which can be done here, must be completed by June 21 at noon to guarantee a ferry ticket.
Can’t make the event? There are also free yoga classes on the island every Saturday from June 18 through September 3.
