Recipe: Glowing Skin Smoothie
Summer’s not over yet, which means there’s still time to flaunt summer skin. This smoothie recipe uses foods that are good for your skin, heightening that sun-kissed glow. Omega-3s, found in the spinach and flaxseed, keep your skin firm by preserving collagen. Blueberries and apricots provide antioxidants, along with beneficial vitamins C and E, that keep skin radiant. The dark chocolate also contains flavanols, another form of antioxidant. Plus, who doesn’t love chocolate for breakfast?
The smoothie is naturally sweetened with fruit, eliminating the need for added sugar. The use of almond milk, instead of dairy, may also be beneficial for those with acne-prone or sensitive skin. Finally, rolled oats provide fiber, making this smoothie a filling breakfast option.
