Paint Your Practice at YogaWorks This Weekend

Boston’s yoga scene is full of unique classes. There’s aerial yoga, black light yoga, rock and roll yoga, and even yoga in a garage. But a workshop happening this weekend may be the most unconventional class you’ve tried yet.
Instructor and artist Izzy VanHall is teaching her original Paint Your Practice workshop this Saturday afternoon at YogaWorks, and it’s the first time it’s been offered in Boston. In essence, the session combines yoga, art, and breath into one multidisciplinary, sense-stimulating afternoon.
Class starts with breath work and a traditional yoga flow. Once you’ve got that down pat, paint gets involved. You’ll repeat the original sequence, this time on a giant canvas and equipped with colorful paint. As you move through the flow, you’ll create an abstract piece of art alongside your fellow yogis. When class is done, you may take your piece of canvas home, or have it turned into a bag by fashion designer Helena Monteiro.
