Here’s the 2017 Boston Marathon Celebration Jacket

In this town, there are few garments with as much caché as the Boston Marathon jacket. Wearing one means you braved the journey from Hopkinton to Boylston Street and lived to tell the tale.

This month, Adidas unveiled the coveted 2017 Celebration Jacket. The waterproof shell is a vibrant cobalt blue with white trim, plus salmon accents for women and blue accents for men. The Boston Athletic Association logo is embroidered with glow-in-the-dark thread, as is “B.A.A. 26.2” on the back of the neck.

“This is the most anticipated reveal in our sport each year, eagerly anticipated by new and veteran runners alike,” Jack Fleming, marketing and communications director for the B.A.A, said in an announcement. “The jacket has been created to reward not only the accomplishment but also the hard work necessary to run Boston. If our finishers’ medallion is worn for the hours or perhaps even the day following the historic race each year, then the Celebration Jacket is proudly worn to signify the fact that one has crested the sport in a pinnacle and deeply personal achievement.”

The jacket will be sold online for $110.
