With its latest collection, Sperry is trading sailboats for sidewalks.

The nearly century-old boat shoe brand, based in Waltham, is heading to dry land with 7 Seas, its first-ever line of athletic sneakers. The kicks are reminiscent of Sperry’s classic styles, but boast plenty of cushion, the kind of traction you’d expect from a heritage boating brand, and a secure, supported fit.

While the 7 Seas collection was inspired by performance footwear created for America’s Cup athletes, the styles are better suited for athleisure than hard-core training—they should be worn as casual athletic shoes, not your go-to sneaks for a long run.

The shoes are available in multiple colors and styles for both men and women. They retail for $90 each, and are available online and in select stores now.
