The Most Luxurious Locker Rooms in Boston
We deem it socially acceptable to never shower at home again.
As fitness junkies who live in the city, we are no strangers to the constant struggle of living out of an oversized backpack. Lugging around everything from an extra pair of shoes to shower essentials can get awfully heavy, not to mention a pain to pack every night before a 6 a.m. workout. So, when a gym has a particularly nice locker room set-up—and better yet, free amenities—we surely take full advantage, as should you. Whether you’re looking for a new gym to call home or want to strategically use your ClassPass credits to squeeze in a great workout plus a spa-like morning, check out these luxurious locker rooms in Boston.
B/Spoke
If you’re stopping by for, say, one of Kara Lennon’s super sweaty hot rides at 2018 Best of Boston winner B/Spoke in the Financial District, don’t even think about leaving covered in sweat. Stocked with Aesop products, the locker rooms are incredibly clean, ~ swanky, ~ and pretty spacious for a small studio in the center of the city. The women’s locker room has four showers and the men’s has two, and there are countertops and mirrors galore to prime yourself before heading out for the day.

Equinox Seaport
As the unofficial/official best gym to pick up a date at, you might as well just save some time and get ready there before heading out for the night. The spacious locker room and counter space allows you to spread out and make yourself comfortable—without feeling like you need to keep tabs on where your stuff is, or check to see if it’s encroaching on another person. And if you have a little extra time to spare, you can take advantage of any one of their always-changing lineup of services like facials and deep tissue massages.

Healthworks Back Bay
This location of Healthworks, although not a spa, certainly feels like one when you walk through its massive locker room. Be careful which way you turn though, because honestly, it’s so big you might get lost. Inside, find massage rooms where you can book special therapies like cupping or a hot stone massage. There’s also a steam room, sauna, and whirlpool, perfect for cold days when nothing seems to warm you up.

NB Fitness Club
Don’t be confused, this massive club’s name doesn’t stand for New Balance—even though it is located right next to New Balance’s Global Flagship store. It stands for New Brighton, and that moniker couldn’t be more accurate. The club recently underwent a renovation and reopened this past September, so everything is brand spanking, new. The spacious locker room houses rows of showers, complete with a complimentary towel service. You can sit in the sauna after you workout, too, or schedule a massage with their in-house masseuse.
