Turns out Kelly Brabants, owner and founder of the apparel company Booty by Brabants, isn’t just well versed in all things booty but also all things beauty. The fitness instructor and lifestyle entrepreneur has been sharing, quite frequently, with her nearly 40 thousand Instagram followers all about her skin care routine and we wanted to get the real scoop. Because how exactly does one who sweats so much maintain such nice skin?

Well, for starters, she has a pretty lengthy routine. “First thing in the morning, I always wash my face,” she says. Seems like a no-brainer but then she follows it up with toner, serum, all-over moisturizer, a lip mask, and an eye cream. It’s not quite the Korean 10-step regimen but if you’re not using that many products already it can certainly seem like a lot.

She says she really enjoys trying new products and right now some of her favorites include: Skinbetter Science Oxygen Infusion Wash, SkinMedica Purifying Toner, SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator Serum, Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream, and she tells me that she can’t live without Laneige Watermelon Lip Sleeping mask—a leave-on lip mask that soothes and moisturizes overnight.

But a good skin care routine is only as good as how consistent you are with it and Brabants says that she always packs face wipes and hand sanitizer in her gym bag. “I never touch my face and as soon as I get home from teaching, or the gym, I make sure to shower and wash my face.”

To supplement her routine, Brabants loves getting Hydrafacials and Vivace treatments from Vega Vitality, a wellness space in Copley Square specializing in everything from skincare to nutrition. Hydrafacials are not like your typical facial in that you will want to hide away at home afterwards. Using a type of sucking tool to extract, cleanse, and infuse the skin with hydrating and customizable serums you’ll walk out of the treatment with glowing skin. Vivace is a type of microneedling to help stimulate collagen production and prevent facial wrinkles and fine lines.

As for makeup, Brabants says she’s either very minimal or full-out glam. “There is no in-between,” she laughs. She always uses concealer, either Tarte Shape Tape or Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear and does her brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. “I also love Hourglass Skin Foundation because it gives that natural flawless finish without looking like you’re wearing a lot of makeup.”

And she definitely never goes anywhere without a good highlighter and body cream. Her go-to’s include Anastasia Amrezy Highlighter and Sol de Janeria’s Coco Cabana Body Cream—staying true to her Brazilian roots. “Even if you’re not wearing foundation, highlighter makes you look awake and dewy and the body cream smells amazing. I use it all over my body on a daily basis.”

It goes without saying though, that just like with your own individual fitness and nutrition routine, what works for one person might not work for another when it comes to skincare. We can all hope to achieve a dewy glow like Brabants, but it might just take some trial and error. For now, this is a good start.
