CorePower Yoga Is Opening in Charlestown, and You Can Celebrate with a Free Class
Coming this November, CorePower Yoga is adding an eleventh Boston location in Charlestown at Bunker Hill.
Yogis in Charlestown, rejoice: When it comes to finding a place to settle into your mat for down dogs and shavasana, your options just became more fruitful. That’s right—CorePower Yoga Charlestown is opening this November. And to celebrate, the yogi community is kicking things off with a free outdoor yoga class in conjunction with Veteran’s Day.
This Saturday, November 9 at 10 a.m., head to the Pier at the Marriott Boston Harbor for an outdoor yoga sculpt class. Yoga sculpt mixes free weights with cardio and strength training exercises. You’ll do moves like squats, lunges, and bicep curls to upbeat music. You won’t feel the fiery warmth of a heated room, typical of CorePower Yoga studios, but you’ll rev your metabolism and feel the heat from within.
The class is free, but donations are encouraged, and all proceeds will go to Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program. It’s dedicated to serving veterans of all eras, service members, and military families through clinical care, wellness, education, and research.
You are encouraged to dress in layers—it is November, after all. Bring your own mat and water, and stick around afterwards for hot chocolate and apple cider. Similar to the Boston Harbor Now summer yoga programming on Old Ironsides, you’ll have views of the Navy Yard, as well as the war ships USS Cassin Young and USS Constitution.
The opening of this new studio gives Charlestown residents another yoga studio to choose from. As of right now, there’s currently only one—Asana Charlestown, which is located on City Square, and boasts sweeping views of the Zakim Bridge from its largest practice room. CorePower Yoga Charlestown is located on Austin Street, just north of Asana and neighboring spin studio Ctowncycle.
If you’re already a devout CorePower yogi, take advantage of 25 percent off unlimited yoga by signing up before the studio opens. On top of unlimited yoga classes, this membership option gets you into workshops for free, and earns you exclusive retail discounts, 20 percent off teacher training, and more. And don’t forget, if you’ve never been to CorePower Yoga, you’ll want to utilize their free trial week of unlimited classes to see if it’s the right fit for you.
Free, November 9, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., The Pier at Residence Inn by Marriott Boston, Harbor on Tudor Wharf, 34-44 Charles River Ave., Boston, eventbrite.com. The new studio is located at: 19 Austin St., Suite E101, Charlestown, 617-812-9831, corepoweryoga.com.
