Give Back to the Community with Help from New Balance
Maybe you just started training for the marathon and bought yourself a new pair of sneakers to run in. Maybe you’re looking at your closet, wondering where you’re going to put your new holiday gifts. Maybe you want to clean house before the new year. Either way, you’ve likely got some extra activewear on hand that could use a new home.
If you want to spread some last-minute holiday cheer, donate those shoes, leggings, and more as part of New Balance’s NB Gives Back campaign.
Anytime through the end of December, the Boston-based company is encouraging customers, athletes, and associates to donate new or gently used shoes and apparel of any brand to an organization of his or her choice.
As a holiday bonus, for every photo of a donation posted to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #NBGivesBack, New Balance will donate $5 to Soles4Souls, a nonprofit that fights poverty worldwide by collecting and distributing shoes and clothing.
The call to action has been taken up nationwide. Right here in Boston, the Celtics donated to Horizons for Homeless Children in Massachusetts.

And the Boston Bruins took part as well.

Pablo Sandoval, of the Red Sox, donated some of his shoes, too.
