Tavern Road Rolls Out Whole 30 Menu for Resolutioners
As any dieter knows, things tend to break down the second a restaurant menu opens. Cooking healthy food in your own kitchen is one thing; finding it while dining out is a separate challenge entirely.
Tavern Road, a Fort Point restaurant specializing in small plates, hears you. After chef Louis DiBiccari began following the Whole 30 diet himself—and posting his tantalizing creations on Instagram—he decided to bring a Whole 30-compliant menu to his restaurant.
The menu features dishes free of grains, dairy, sugar, alcohol, and legumes, as mandated by Whole 30. It’s dubbed, fittingly, the Resolutions Menu.
It must be noted that Whole 30, while popular, is not without its doubters. It landed in last place on U.S. News and World Report‘s annual list of best diets, and many people criticize it, probably legitimately, for placing too much emphasis on restriction and short-term changes versus lifestyle shifts. Some experts also take issue with the emphasis it places on meat-eating.
Whether you’re on board with Whole 30 or not, Tavern Road’s menu offers some light-but-tasty options—cod and littleneck sauté, anyone?—that may be just what you’re looking for this resolution season.
