How To Set Up Boston Lobby Screens
HOW TO: SET UP LOBBY SCREENS
There are different steps for setting up each screen. You will need the following to start:
- Laptop
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- TV remote
- Web page housing your image (Digital Productions can provide)
LEFT SCREEN SET-UP DIRECTIONS:
Use remote to turn on TV screen
Plug laptop charger cord into outlet behind the screen on the ground
Plug laptop into the Android dongle’s USB port, located on back of screen (it’s the black piece with the green android character on it)
Take the TV remote and ensure the screen’s input is set at “HDMI” – this will ensure the screen’s dashboard (seen below) is visible
Use mouse to navigate to your web page using Chrome (this is the page Digital Productions will have set up for you); here you will find the image/logo, etc. you want to project
Left click (hold down for ~2-3 seconds) on the image and select “save image”
Click on the little house icon (seen on the bottom, left-hand side of the TV screen, to the right of the arrow that points left as seen in the above photo)
Click “downloads” icon, seen on the screen’s dashboard
Click on your saved image in the folder that pops up
Select “Gallery”
DONE! Your image should now appear on the left lobby screen.
RIGHT SCREEN SET-UP DIRECTIONS:
Use same remote to turn on the TV screen on the right
Ensure the input is “HDMI” (this should be the default)
Plug keyboard into the USB on back of the screen
Go back to the screen and select “Content Source” using the keyboard arrows (it’s the 3rd option down in the below photo)
Highlight “Server URL” in the next window that will pop up and enter in the URL of your web page which houses your image (Digital Productions will have provided this to you)
Another window called “Service Information” will appear; just Click “Done”
A “Save Settings” window will appear – just click “Yes”
Done! Your image should now appear on the right lobby screen
*Please Note: If you want to play around with how your image is formatted on either screen, use the TV remote to access the menu. If you click into “Screen Options” you can adjust the horizontal or vertical positioning of the image, or you can actually make your image stretch to be larger or shorter both vertically and horizontally (of course, be careful to not stretch your image! If you adjust the height, be sure to also adjust the width accordingly)
