Marc A. Moccia
Specialty: Family Law
About
Attorney Marc A. Moccia is a senior associate at Kazarosian Costello LLP, concentrating in personal injury, family law, and civil rights. He has litigated numerous cases throughout his career, and has established a reputation for being a formidable advocate in a wide variety of cases, ranging from high asset/high conflict divorce cases, to catastrophic personal injury cases involving autos, trucks, bicycles, and construction site injuries, to police misconduct cases involving excessive force. Marc’s extensive courtroom experience ensures that he is well-prepared for litigation, but his interpersonal skills and vast network of colleagues serve him well in working across the table for the best solution. Nevertheless, he prepares each case with the expectation that it may end up before a judge or jury.
Marc recently finished a two-year term as the Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Family Law Section Council and continues to sit on the council as a member. In September, 2024, he began his current role as Secretary of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and he serves as a member of the MBA’s Executive Management Board and its Budget & Finance Committee. In 2023, Marc served as the Vice President of the Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inns of Court. From 2019-2023, Marc served on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being. Marc is a past President of the Haverhill Bar Association, and is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Essex County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Marc’s recent notable settlements and verdicts include a $4.5 million settlement for the family of a bicyclist who was killed by a tractor-trailer, a $7 million settlement for a man injured in construction accident, and a judgment totaling over $7.7 million for a woman catastrophically injured in an automobile accident. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Super Lawyers, and Boston magazine’s Top lawyers. In 2020, Marc was recognized as an Up & Coming Lawyer as part of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Excellence in the Law Awards, and he enjoys a 10.0 Superb rating from AVVO.com.
