Michael Homer is an accomplished trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor whose practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation, and government enforcement matters. Michael is based out of Boston and Miami, and he represents clients nationwide.

Michael previously served for six years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, where he gained national recognition for prosecuting complex, high-profile fraud cases. As a federal prosecutor in Miami, he led more than 100 investigations and prosecutions involving a variety of federal crimes, including wire and mail fraud, health care fraud, cyber fraud, securities and investment fraud, tax fraud, and money laundering. A skilled white-collar litigator, Michael developed particular expertise during his tenure in the specialized Cyber-Crimes/Crypto-Assets unit and Health Care Fraud unit.

Michael’s high-profile prosecutions frequently garnered widespread media attention, including his prosecution of the “Bleach Boys,” a Florida family who sold a toxic bleach solution as a “miracle” cure for COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and autism. Michael’s work as the lead prosecutor in that case (U.S. v. Grenon) was covered extensively by national and international publications and media outlets, including CNN, CBS News, NBC News, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, and was the subject of a popular true crime podcast produced by Bloomberg, “Smoke Screen: Deadly Cure.”

Prior to becoming a federal prosecutor, Michael spent five years as a litigator with Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston, where he gained extensive experience in the health care and life sciences industries; defended individuals and corporations in False Claims Act cases, criminal prosecutions, and commercial litigation; and conducted numerous internal investigations for corporate clients.

Michael began his legal career as a federal law clerk for Judge P. Kevin Castel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Michael graduated from Columbia Law School with highest honors.
