Nearly 300 guests woke in the early morning hours of May 19, 2018 to arrive at Fairmont Copley Plaza to watch Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, live on television. The viewing party was co-hosted by Boston Weddings and began at 6:30am inside the hotel’s elegant Ballroom, where guests were glued to the big-screen to witness the ceremony in real time. They indulged in full English and American breakfasts, plenty of tea and scones, and wedding cake to commemorate the occasion. Guests were dressed in their finest fascinators and wedding wear suited for a royal gathering, and captured their own royal moments throughout the morning inside the royal-themed photo booth, next to life-size cutouts of Royal family members, and beside a classic British red telephone booth.
For the occasion, Marc Hall Design arranged gorgeous spring blooms perfect for an English wedding; Bollinger served premium champagne to toast the happy couple in style; PSAV offered expert audio and visual services for the live broadcast in addition to room lighting; Dessert Works deliciously baked the same lemon elderflower cake flavor chosen by Harry & Meghan; and Sugarfina bestowed their popular Royal Roses gummies for guest favors.
