Who inspired you to start your own business?
My parents owned and operated their own business, and inspired me with their entrepreneurial spirit.
Who was your role model growing up?
I had several role models growing up, being exposed to strong working women. My mother and grandmother both worked outside the home, and were very successful businesswomen.
Did you always want to start your own business?
Yes. I have always enjoyed the idea of being self-employed. It enables me to control my time and do the work I want to do. When my children were young, being self-employed gave me the flexibility I needed to spend more time with them than a 9 to 5 job would have.
If you could give advice to other women hoping to start a business, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to take a chance on yourself. By developing a strong business plan and working hard, there are few limits on what you can achieve.
