Happy 100th Birthday, Julia Child!

Today would’ve been the master French chef’s 100th birthday, and area chefs are celebrating the former Cambridge resident in culinary style. Mary Dumont, executive chef at Harvest in Harvard Square (where Child was a regular and a friend of the original owners), told WBUR of her admiration for Child: “She carried herself in such a way that people stood to attention,” she said. “And I think that’s really admirable, especially at a time when there were no female chefs, let alone very many television chefs that were doing anything of that sort.
