New York Times Hall of Fame Coverage Is An Epic Win


For the first time since 1996, voters declined to elect anyone to the Baseball Hall of Fame, taking a pass on players from Roger Clemens to Curt Schilling. The Boston Globe led their Sports section with a fairly standard presentation of the news:

The New York Times, however, got pretty clever.

Don’t worry, they followed up that three quarter page of blank space—a tribute to the inductees that weren’t, perhaps—with an actual news story further on in the section.
