Bill Russell Is Decidedly Not Morgan Freeman

Sure Morgan Freeman seems to appear in or narrate every movie ever, but Barack Obama’s second inauguration ceremony was not a movie. Certainly it wasn’t a Bill Russell biopic. Nevertheless, when the camera focused on the NBA hall-of-famer and Celtics legend, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos rather amusingly said, “That’s Morgan Freeman I think.” Lucky for Stephanopoulos, The New Yorker editor David Remnick quickly corrected him. (Perhaps it was the Celtics hat or the fact that Russell doesn’t really look like Freeman at all that tipped Remnick off?) At least Russell has an easy answer should anyone ask “who would want to play you in a movie?” [Deadspin]
