Tom Brady and Gisele Go New York House-a-Hunting

Three Bucks! Two Bags! One pair of international celebrities. Not content with their California mansion, everyone’s favorite passer of spirals and wearer of angel wings (respectively) Tom and Gisele are also on the market for a place in New York City. (Boo. Hiss!) The New York Post‘s Page Six says they’d like a “luxe dwelling in the West Village.” You know what they say about New York. Are you in or are you out? With potential mayoral candidates saying definitively whether they’re in or they’re out all week, Boston might be confused for a Tivo-marathoned season of Project Runway. (Note: this is false.) Several more candidates declared Thursday, but City Councilor Tito Jackson said he wouldn’t run, prompting the Boston Globe to take a look at the lack of diversity in the field. “This emerging lineup could create an opportunity for female and minority candidates still weighing a run to tap into constituencies that are hungry to play a role in city politics, said veteran political operatives,” The Globe’s Jim O’Sullivan says. Boston leans in. Hey, speaking of a lack of diversity in positions of power, look! It’s Sheryl Sandberg! The chief operating officer of Facebook and promoter of the movement telling women to “lean in” to their careers took her show on the road to the Coolidge Corner Theater for an interview with Here & Now’s Robin Young. “The data is super clear that when there are women in more senior leadership roles there is more work-life flexibility, and we have to believe in that,” she told the audience. The budget battles continue. Gov. Deval Patrick and Beacon Hill legislators continued to go around the ring on a proposed budget plan, with Patrick vowing to veto the legislature’s more muted $500 million tax proposal, and the legislature checking ranks to see whether they’ve got an override.
