Before & After: How Might Boston 2024’s Bid 2.0 Transform the City?

How would Southie, Dorchester, and Quincy look if Boston 2024 succeeds?

Boston 2024 unveiled its “Bid 2.0” Monday morning, with new details on financing and insuring the bid to bring the 2024 Summer Olympics to Massachusetts—and of course, even more questions.

This revised bid, available here, includes development plans for Widett Circle and Columbia Point, sites of the proposed Games’ temporary Olympic stadium and Athletes’ Village, respectively. Bid 2.0 provides artistic renderings for these sites, as well as Squantum Point in Quincy, where Boston 2024 hopes to host beach volleyball.

While the bid’s first incarnation gave a few glimpses of the transformation Boston 2024 has in mind, the images included in these latest plans give a more vivid look. Just ignore the daytime fireworks and a tropical Dorchester Bay.
