Weymouth Middle School Cafeteria Worker Gets Jail for Raping 15-Year-Old
A middle school cafeteria worker in Weymouth has been sentenced to jail for raping a 15-year-old boy.
Norfolk Superior Court Judge Thomas Connors sentenced Janelle Foley, 38, to two-and-a-half to four-and-half years in state prison Wednesday after she pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and abuse of a child, the Patriot Ledger reports. She had previously pleaded not guilty when she was first arraigned in 2014.
The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office says Foley raped the boy during Thanksgiving and New Year’s parties at his family home, and she was arrested about a week after the latter. Though she worked as a cafeteria worker at the Chapman Middle School in Weymouth for roughly two years, the boy was not a student at the school when the assault occurred.
Foley, a mother of four, will serve five years probation when she is released from prison. She will have to register as a sex offender, wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, and undergo counseling. At a 2014 hearing, her defense attorney said she suffers from depression and substance abuse.
