MBTA Transit Police are looking for a man they say “endangered lives and delayed service for our riding public” on the Blue Line, all for a selfie.

Police say the man entered the tunnel at Aquarium station just before 8 p.m. Thursday night, causing a service disruption. Several officers conducted a search of the tunnel, but were unable to locate the man, police say.

“This type of behavior will not be tolerated,” police said in a release. “This criminal act could have turned deadly, it placed TPD officers and MBTA employees in harm’s way and greatly inconvenienced our riding public.”

Police say a “preliminary investigation” indicated the man was trying to take a selfie. Anyone with information about this man is encouraged to call the Criminal Investigations Unit at (617) 222-1050, text a tip to 873873, or use the SeeSay app.
