Sexual Assault Reported in Boston University’s Warren Towers
Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault in Boston University’s Warren Towers along Commonwealth Avenue.
Students received an email and text alert around 9:30 p.m. Sunday that an assault had been reported in the primarily freshman dormitory around 3 p.m. No description of the suspect was given, and a spokesperson for BU has said the investigation is ongoing.
The security desk at Warren Towers is staffed 24 hours a day. Students must swipe in to gain access, and accompanied guests must provide a photo ID. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact BU Police at (617) 353-2121, or send an anonymous text to TIP411 (847411).
The reported assault comes roughly a year after a BU student was allegedly raped in her room inside Student Village 2, an upperclassman dorm in the school’s West Campus. Samson Donick, a former MIT basketball player from California, pleaded not guilty in May to aggravated rape, breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a felony, and indecent assault and battery.
